ADMISSION

Admission of candidates will be subject to merit as well as Medical fitness by MGM’s Medical College Hospital. Annual medical checkup is arranged by the MGM Hospital

BOOKS AND UNIFORM

The students should be in prescribed uniform during clinical experience as well as community health nursing filed experience The Institute will arrange for the supply of books and uniform to students on payment.

FEES

Payment of fees should be done as per the schedule given on page 14 Fees should be paid in single installment or in 2 with prior permission.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

English is the medium of instruction and communication at the Institute. Proficiency in English is important to communicate with teachers/doctors/ classmates and clients. Students must communicate with each other and with other members of the health team in English. It is forbidden to speak in regional language inside the campus.

MARATHI PROFICIENCY

Knowledge of Marathi is essential to interact with patients . Hence it is important to acquire a working knowledge of Marathi to gain adequate clinical / community health experience during training in Hospital Wards / Community Centers etc. Any payments involved will have to borne by the students.

ATTENDENCE

Students are not allowed to take any kind of leave during their training period. A medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner must be submitted in case of sickness. Only 10 days of sick leave is approved by the council.

INTITUTIONAL EXAMINATIONS

  • Institutional examination are conducted three times in an academic year i.e. in October, January and April.

  • Minimum Marks for pass is each subject is 50%.

  • 25% of the total marks obtained in each subject is send to the Maharashtra Nursing Council as Internal Assessment Marks.

  • The students who are staying in the hostel should abide by the hostel rules, which are in force from time to time, failing which disciplinary action will be taken.
  • Mess facilities are provided by MGM food. Payment should be done on or before 1st of every month.
  • Students are expected to keep their rooms clean and tidy and maintain excellent personal relations with the room mates and other residents of the hostel.
  • Nursing students are advised not to keep any valuables in their rooms. They will be responsible for any loss of their personal property. Students will be also accountable for things provided to them by the Institute.
  • Sickness or absence of students should be reported to the hostel warden promptly. Incase of sickness the students should consult the doctor at MGM Medical college Hospital
  • Use of electrical gadgets for ironing or cooking is prohibited. No cooking is allowed in the hostel and it is obligatory to share the common mess. Meals should be taken only in the dining room during the specified timings.
  • Study Hours :- The nursing students will have to devote a minimum of two hours daily for study, and four hours on holidays, except Sundays.
  • Local Guardian :- Local Guardian, if any, should be nominated by the parents at the time of admission. Any change of local guardian during the course, should be nominated by the parent. The guardian’s photograph should be submitted to the warden and he / she should sign in the Guardian’s Book.
  • Out Going Passes :- The nursing students are not permitted to leave the hostel premises without the written permission of the authority and when permitted they should be back in the hostel by 6:30 PM.
  • Over night Passes :-Students will be permitted one overnight pass a month. Written request for an overnight pass should be submitted to the principal by Thursday giving complete residential address and phone number.
  • Games, Outdoor exercise :- The nursing students are encouraged to make use of the indoor / outdoor games facilities in the evening for a minimum of one hour daily.
  • Visiting Hours :- Visiting Hours will be strictly from 05:00 PM to 06:30 PM on Wednesday and Saturday and from 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM on Sundays. The visitors should be entertained in the visiting room only and are not allowed inside the hostel.
  • Students on Night Duty :- The Nursing students when on night duty will not be given any out going passes. (The students will be on night shift as per the clinical rotations).
  • Recreation :-It is permitted to watch the Television in the recreation room till 7:30 PM on Sunday and holidays. On weekdays watch News only between 7 PM to 8:30 PM. The Programs after 10:00 PM can be watched only with the permission of the warden. The volume of the television must be kept low as to be heard only in the recreation room.
  • Principal, Warden or any teaching staff have the right to inspect the room of the students at any time.
  • Ragging of any kind will result in immediate expulsion from the hostel
  • The general conduct of the students in the Hostel, Nursing School and the Hospital will be taken into account for the general proficiency award.
